FLY SYNTHESIS Launch’s the new Manthos.
Monday, 6 February 2006
FLY SYNTHESIS AUSTRALIA is proud to announce the release of the revolutionary MANTHOS.
After much anticipation Fly Synthesis has unveiled it’s newest prototype the Manthos.
Launched at Europe’s biggest aviation fair Friedrichshafen Germany, visitors got a glimpse of what the future holds. A one third scaled down version of the prototype was on display and admired by the many onlookers. The Manthos with its innovative design promises top end performance and yet retains an economical fuel burn. It’s twin tail section, retractable gear and sweptback wings makes the Manthos looks more like a jet fighter than an ultra-light. The Manthos powered by the 100 Hp Rotax 912S is expected to achieve a cruise speed of 160 knots and still maintain a stall speed of only 33 knots. This amazing performance is due to the "regenerative pressure" fuselage and the innovative 4 air foil wing.
Australian representative and Importer Caz Monteleone says “the design has been made possible because we are using the latest CAD technology as well as the utilisation of Carbon fibre and other modern composite materials”. With more and more aluminium being replaced with composites by aircraft manufactures such as Boeing and Airbus, Fly Synthesis can feel satisfied that they are in tune with their bigger cousins.
Final design completion is due late 2006 with production and orders taken in 2007.
