TEXAN Retractable Gear
The landing gear is a retractable tricycle type. The retraction is made through an electro-pneumatic system utilising a compressor and two actuators. One actuator moves the nose landing gear leg (retraction inside the fuselage lower area), and the other moves together the two main landing gear legs (retraction inside the wings lower area). The main gear has been fixed to the fuselage through an internal carbon support frame with the hinges for the movement of legs.
Each leg is built in Fiberglass composite material to ensure optimal shock absorbing effect during take-off and landing. Main wheels and brakes are the same as the fixed tricycle type.
The front gear is the same as the fixed tricycle type, but fixed to the lower fuselage frame through an internal carbon support frame and hinged for the movement of the legs. The steering system is the same as the fixed tricycle type controlled from the rudder pedals.
